Technology

Our school loves to use technology for teaching and learning.  Our blog page details a full list of the technology we used to complete the steps in the SFI requirements.

Requirements:

1 Take part in coding and computer science projects - Scratch.

2 Develop a blog, website or video.

Coding

First class students have been using Scratch junior to create games and activities as part of their Language learning in both English and Irish.

Creating videos

Fourth class students and sixth class students used slow motion videos to record, analyse and create mathematical analysis of their experiments.  They also produced films with full sound, visual effects and animation.  This Science blog compliments our school twitter page and website.

Other Activities

1. Using IPads as part of green screen activities.

2. Using IPads to explore Mathematics concepts as part of number work in infants.

3. Using Braille sense machines and technologies so that all students can share in the ideas of their friends.

4. Using slow motion cameras to record the speed at which parachutes drop.

5. Using video recordings to analyse the changes that happen to eggs in solutions.

6. Creating digital animations to represent stories.

7. Programming Lego to perform different tasks as part of Lego WeDo 2.0.

8. Creating videos with appropriate sound and transitions as part of our Pasta tower challenges during Engineering Week 2019.
